Brian Dodsworth Grass-Court Tournament – 7 May

The following weekend you can take part in the traditional grass-court curtain-raiser, the Brian Dodsworth Tournament, on Saturday, 7 May 2016.

The mixed doubles event is open to full adult members. The entry fee is £2 per person.

Enter as an individual (NOT AS A TEAM) and Gary Eldridge and James Buddell will decide on the pairs!

NO entries will be accepted after Wednesday, 4 May at 9 p.m.

Please submit your entry to Gary.

Participants are required to arrive at 1:45 p.m. and be available to play from 2-5 p.m.

Prizes will be awarded to the leading man and lady.

Tournament format:

  • 5 or 6 rounds of eight games, with sudden death on the second deuce;
  • On sudden death, man serves to man, woman to woman;
  • In the event of a non-mixed game, then the receivers choose;
  • Tea to be served after the tournament.

Brian Dodsworth was a former chairman of the tennis section.

WIMBLEDON TICKETS DRAW 2016

The 2016 Wimbledon Tickets Draw will take place at approximately 5:30 p.m. (or after the Brian Dodsworth Tournament) in the Long Room. All 199 members who opted in to the Wimbledon Tickets Draw by the deadline of 19 February 2016 will be included in our draw.

Beckenham LTC’s allocation of tickets has been calculated based on the number of your members who meet the below criteria by 19 February 2016. To count towards your allocation in the 2016 Wimbledon Ballot, members must be: An ‘affiliated’ adult / junior British Tennis Member Linked to your venue Opted in to the Wimbledon Ballot –

A BTM is eligible for their venue(s) BTM Venue Ballot if they meet the following criteria by 19th February 2016.

  • They are an Adult (18+) or Junior (9-17) BTM 2015/6
  • They hold an active ‘Affiliated’ BTM
  • The relevant venue(s) are linked to their BTM record
  • They have opted in to the BTM ballot, with the LTA

Individuals who become BTMs after the 19 February 2016 are eligible for their venue’s BTM Ballot Venue provided that they meet the following criteria 24 hours before the relevant BTM Venue Ballot is due to take place:

  • They are an Adult (18+) or Junior (9-17) BTM
  • They hold an active ‘Affiliated’ BTM
  • The relevant venue(s) are linked to their BTM record
  • They have opted in to the BTM ballot, with the LTA
