Beckenham Tennis Club
Beckenham Lawn Tennis Club was founded in 1879 and has a proud history as one of the oldest clubs in the country.
Beckenham Tennis Club has excellent playing and social facilities. We have 16 courts and a practice wall. Seven of the courts have floodlights. Tokens to operate the lights are reasonably priced and can be bought behind the bar. The club operates a court booking system for the floodlit courts in winter, and courts can also be booked for weekend mornings throughout the year. In summary, our playing surfaces are:
The club has its own tennis pavilion and lounge, as well as a main clubhouse. The main clubhouse has a large bar, changing rooms and showers, and a 'long room' that is available for hire for events and functions.
Beckenham Tennis Club has plenty to offer tennis players of all standards. Our club play sessions are well organised and very popular. We run open and handicap tournaments in the summer season, and have several teams in the Kent and North Kent leagues in both summer and winter. All paid-up members are eligible to enter the club's yearly draw for Wimbledon tickets.
If you're looking to improve your game we have two excellent full-time professional coaches who can offer one-to-one or group tuition. They also run our thriving junior section and junior tournaments. The club is run by a very dedicated and hard working committee of members who (among other things) organise regular tennis and social events for everyone.
Beckenham Tennis Club is part of Beckenham Cricket Club, one of the premier multi-sports clubs in South East London and North West Kent. Beckenham Cricket Club, founded in 1866, is a unique sports club located in the heart of Beckenham with a history of sporting achievement dating back over a century.
The excellent sporting facilities, a thriving social calendar, an extensive selection of real ales, wines and club food, create a warm and friendly atmosphere enjoyed by all social and sporting members.
All of our sections can cater for a wide variety of standards of player, from county level players to the "enthusiast".
The cricket section run three senior sides on Saturdays (playing league and cup cricket) and two sides on Sundays (playing "friendlies"), as well as a number of junior sides, catering for players of all abilities. During the summer the club holds its "cricket week", a five day festival of cricket and social functions. www.beckenhamcc.co.uk

The squash and racketball section has four heated courts where members play club, league and friendly matches, with coaches available for junior and senior members. Racketball is increasingly being played at the club as well.
Beckenham can cater for the "armchair" sportsperson just as well as those looking to participate in sports. You can join as a "social member" with full rights to use the bar and facilities, without having to worry about someone trying to make you run around outside!
The fully licensed bar is open from midday to 3pm, and 5pm to 11pm seven days a week (all day at weekends), offering great beers and food.
